Denyse is a self-taught artist who was born in Toronto, and now resides in Ottawa, Canada.

She is a retired elementary school French teacher who also taught art to children for many years. She earned her B.A. and B.Ed. at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

Denyse works exclusively in acrylics. She looks for inspiration in the colourful wildlife and beautiful scenery that she encounters while spending time outdoors in the local Ottawa Valley. She enjoys painting Canadian themes and loves exploring her creativity with the use of vibrant colours in more abstract backgrounds.

Her work has sold at several different juried art shows and festivals across the province.

Denyse has been commissioned to design album covers for an Ottawa-based recording artist and her work can be seen on music streaming services such as Spotify and iTunes.

Denyse's paintings have been on exhibit at many locations including the Pebble Creek Creative Arts Centre,  Eva James Community Centre and St-Paul's Anglican Church in Kanata.

She enjoys sharing her works on Facebook and Instagram @denysegridley.art
