Denyse is a contemporary fine artist based in the Rideau Lakes area of Ontario, Canada. She is a retired elementary school French teacher who also taught art to children for many years.

As an artist who works primarily in oil, she has developed her own unique style using vibrant colour and bold expressive brushstrokes that create a sense of movement. Her work is impressionistic and often focuses on the play of light and colour and  with contrasting elements of realism and abstraction.

She finds inspiration in the colourful landscapes and wildlife in the Ottawa Valley and in her travels abroad.

Denyse has sold artwork to collectors of all ages at several juried art shows and festivals across the province including Artfest Kingston, Sweetly Affordable Art Fair (Ottawa), Art in the Park Stittsville, Art in the Park Oakville and Art Factory Art Fair (Renfrew).

Denyse has been commissioned to paint several works including designing album covers for an Ottawa-based recording artist and her work can be seen on music streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music.

Her paintings have been on exhibit at several venues in the Ottawa area.

She shares her work on Instagram, Facebook and on her website denysegridleyart.com
